The Next Big Thing

Hello and a great big Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you all have had a great break and are now all ready and geared up for 2013.  Wow it's going to take me a while to get used to writing that!

Firstly, I would like to thank Jennifer Paetsch author of 'Ghost of Doors'.  Who very kindly invited me to join The Next Best Thing blog.  Please drop by and take a look at Jennifer's blog questions jenniferpaetsch.com and see what else she will be up to this coming year.
All very exciting.

Right now onto the questions.........

The Next Best Thing!

1. What is the working title of your book?

Hmmmm… yes well, that I’m not saying, but it is the second book in my new paranormal series. Smile

2. Where did the idea come from for your book?

My over active imagination, the one that used to get me in trouble with my English teacher. Whispers oh and the voices….. lol

3. What genre does your book fall under?

All my books are romance.  I have historical, modern and paranormal.  I’m also planning a teenage romance series and a fun children’s range….. but I’m not saying any more on than that right now either! Smile

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Wow.....mmmmm.... I’ve never even put any thought to it. Shrugs shoulders Sorry!

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Passionate love, heartache and adventure.

6. What is the longer synopsis of your book?

Hmmmm… I’m not telling right now, but as I said before it is the second book to my paranormal 1st series. Smile

7. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Self-published

8.  How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Once my fingers are tapping away on the keyboard, it really doesn’t take very long at all to write a manuscript really.  My brain wont let me stop until its finished anyway!  It’s the rewriting and editing that takes the time….. and boy does it feel like it take’s forever some times.

9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?

My own over active imagination some good fashioned daydreaming…. You know, shrugs shoulders the normal way!

10. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

Ooooh well.... I’ve reinvented the vampire world…. but it’s not just their world I’ve messed around with.  I’ve also played around with a few of the other supernatural’s worlds too.  Its all very exciting, I want to plug my brain into a computer and let it just write for me, so you can see and feel the adventure here and now, that I have waiting for you. Smile.

Now that I have successfully answered 10 questions, without really telling you anything about my next book…. It’s still a secret.  Looking very pleased with myself.

I’ll hand you over to the next eager to talk authors.

This is a delightful romance for our time, combining as it does scenes of celebrity high-life with those more familiar to most of us. The main characters, Claire and Jack, are warm and well drawn and you will be hoping against hope that they overcome their difficulties and end up together. However, the author does not let you off the hook too easily and you will find yourself on a rollercoaster of emotions as the story unfolds. This is a very satisfying read.

By turns romantic and humorous, Christmas Blood thrusts the reader into the fantasy of what would happen if you went to a Halloween party and got romanced by a real monster? We follow the heroine, Daisy, as she tries to deal with her new life as a vampire. I could easily identify with the main character and found her likeable. I don't want to give out any spoilers, so I'll just say she learns about the vampire world and their rules and it's rather interesting.
The hero is just as hunky as he should be and the time they spend together is steamy! It was well worth the .99 I paid for it. I felt it was long enough to cover the exciting story and not get boring. I would recommend this to my friends.

Loved the idea of Daisy who takes a personal journey into a new and exciting world. She might of met her delicious soulmate but it's the new take on sexy vampires that keeps you gripped to the end. Can't wait for the next one as we get to take a look and the new vampire world!

Digging in the Library for Gold; Thanks to Maxi Shelton featured in Michael Charton blog

Digging in the Library for Gold;

Thanks to Maxi Shelton

Taken from iamanauthorimustauth.wordpress.com on 12th December 2012

Michael Charton

I posted on Facebook about going to the library today.  A writer friend, Maxi Shelton responded with; “Are you just going to get the books on reserve for you?  It’s like a sweet shop, you never know what sort of treasures are waiting.”
I told her I’ve become disciplined, but my local branch manager said, yes there is  gold in Arizona, but none under the library.  It was just renovated and please stop digging.
Maxi had a comeback;  but we all want to have adventures.
I liked that comeback and used it.  Next time, I started digging in the biographies.  I made her nervous with my mining helmet and tools.  The canary made her jump.
Maxi wanted to see the look on the Branch Managers face.  Maxi, I want to do book signings there.  You are cruel, LOL!
Maxi thinks I am the Indiana Jones of the library.  No, that’s why we write.  Someone else drills out the library floor and finds bugs and snakes like Indy does.

Thank you Michael that was loads of fun...
of course it's now proven that I talk too much
and want to go on more adventures....
soooo I'd best get back to the writing then! lol
